New features of Umberto for Carbon Footprint v1.1

We have released a new version Umberto for Carbon Footprint v1.1 on November 22, 2011. This version has numerous new features and improvements for ease-of-use and usability. It also contains three new databases with carbon footprint values.

  • New master material database with GWP values: Korean Carbon Footprint Database (320 values)
  • New master material database with GWP values: BioGrace (datasets from European biofuels project)
  • New master material database with GWP values: Colombian datasets from GAIA
  • New parameterized transport modules in the Module Gallery: ready-to-use transport data for truck, ship, planes
  • Multi element editing im the Model Editor
  • Alignment of elements
  • Adapt size of elements to connected Sankey arrow width
  • Adapt size of multiple elements to selected master element
  • New arrow drawing mode that doesn't require to set processes and places (processes and places are added "automagically")
  • Unattach and reattach arrows (connect arrow to another element)
  • New arrow bending point handling for easier arrow routing, improved Add Point command
  • Lower Flow Threshold for Sankey arrows
  • Hide Null Flows feature
  • Several usability improvements, e.g. in the Search Material dialog
  • Fixed several known issues and bugs
  • New user manual, adapted help file
  • Expanded tutorials

A brief documentation on this data is included in the user manual. We will also be publishing some more information on the data here in the community board.
