Since version 1.1 we are shipping a database with GWP values from Colombia as master material database in Umberto for Carbon Footprint. The database contains at present some 15 entries from the energy and the transport sector.
These datasets have been kindly provided by
GAIA Servícios Ambientales in Medellin/Colombia, a consulting firm specialized in environmental engineering services.
Here is some additional information on these datasets. This post can serve as a starting point for discussions on the 'Colombian Dataset by GAIA'.
- These datasets have been provided by GAIA Servícios Ambientales for inclusion into Umberto for Carbon Footprint.
- The database contains some 20 datasets with GWP values for raw materials, chemical processes, energy/fuel and transport. The values have been collected from the publicly available sources. Sources are given in the description field of the material in Umberto for Carbon Footprint. Please read the original documentation of these datasets.
- Some adaptations had to be made in order to supply these datasets ready-for-use in Umberto for Carbon Footprint. Mind that the values were originally supplied in kg CO2-eq. per kWh and were converted to kg CO2-eq. per MJ for consistency with other energy related GWP values.
- We provide these datasets with GWP values free-of-charge. ifu Hamburg is not the generator of these datasets, and does not give any warranty for them. When using these datasets in your carbon footprint model, make sure they are applicable for your specific situation. If you have specific questions regarding these datasets or the GWP values, please contact GAIA Servícios Ambientales or the original authors.
