Uncertainty Analysis Feature or Monte Carlo Simulation
« on: October 14, 2020, 12:41 »
Is there any feature in Umberto LCA+ that can be used to evaluate the uncertainty in the environmental impacts?

To clarify, can tens/hundreds/thousands of different iterations be simulated to estimate the uncertainty of impacts such as Global Warming Potential, Acidification Potential and so on?

Uncertainty Analysis: Systematic procedure to quantify the uncertainty introduced in the results of a life cycle inventory analysis due to the cumulative effects of model imprecision, input uncertainty and data variability. [ISO 14044]

PS: A similar topic was created in 2014, but it has been inactive for a while.

Dear Yusuf,

Thanks a lot for your post. Unfortunately, this is currently not available in Umberto LCA+. However it will be implemented in Umberto 11, going to be released next year.

Already available is a multiple scenario analysis. You find a webinar recording right here:

Furthermore please find here some hints: https://www.ifu.com/fileadmin/user_upload/Mailings/Updateinformation/Information_Scenario_Analysis_WEB.pdf

If you need any further support, please feel free to reply, or contact us at support@umberto.de

regards,
Jan
