What is the reference flow
« on: November 08, 2017, 16:52 »
Hi everyone,

I am new to Umberto and I am trying to understand how this program works. Some things are not clear yet for me. Therefore I should start with my first question.

What is the reference flow? What is the relation to the calculations? Could it be more than one "product"?

Thanks for the help! :-)

Dear Reference_engineer,
thank you very much for your question and sorry for the late reply. Unfortunately, we had some technical issues.

The reference flow (also called manual flow) is very important for your calculations, as all calculated values relate to the quantity of the manual flow in order to calculate the material flow model.

Indeed, the reference flow can be more than a “product”. For example, it can also be the annual production volume or a certain maximal output of an emission (emission cap).

You can find further examples in the Umberto User Manual. Therefore, please start Umberto -> choose “Help” in the menu -> Open User Manual -> look for chapter “Identification of Products (Reference Flows)”.

I hope this helps and please don’t hesitate to contact us, if there are any questions left.

Kind regards,
