General / Problems with Tutorial 1 :(
« Last post by tobsen on January 17, 2017, 12:09 »
Hey Guys,
I'm very new to Umberto and thought to start with the Tutorials. Unfortunately i had a Problem right at the beginning.
I created the process and the input and output material. When i put the in- and outputmaterials (with coefficients)  in the process, the output material should change from material type good to reference flow. But it does not.
Any ideas why?
Thanks in advance
Tobi

General Umberto NXT CO2 / 'Christmas update' for Umberto NXT CO2
« Last post by rbrandt on December 14, 2016, 10:30 »
Just before Christmas a new Umberto NXT Update is available for our Umberto Maintenance & Support service customers. The Christmas update comes with performance improvements, new features and bug fixes. For example, opening and switching models, as well as switching sankey diagrams on and off are now significantly faster (depending on the computer performance and the size of the model).

Here you can find a quick overview:
  • Performance improvements especially for working with the net editor.
  • Process balance warning for input/output imbalances. By default enabled for the unit type 'Mass'.
  • Usability improvements, e.g. calculation of a model can be reset via the model's context menu.

A detailed description how to use the new features can be found in the Release Notes.
We recommend to install the update and always run the latest version.

The latest trial version of Umberto NXT can be obtained from our webpage.

Currently only the license owner receive update notes via e-Mail. If you are working with Umberto and like to receive these e-Mails, just send your name and your e-Mail address to marc.s.loebel@ifu.com

Should there be any questions, please contact the Umberto help desk at support@umberto.de

Dear Phil,

In order to include the credit for the amount of FC electricity, that is exported to the grid, into your model you only need to insert the production of ENTSO-Electricity mix with a negative coefficient into your Umberto model/process specification.

Imagining you only have one process for the FC specification you add the pre-chain or a dataset for the production of the ENTSO-E electricity mix but instead of using a positive input coefficient (e.g. 1000 kWh) you use a negative coefficient (e.g. -1000 kWh). This will bring a credit for the “saved” amount of 1000 kWh ENTSO-E electricity mix and corresponds to “the emission per kWh electricity using ENTSO-E electricity mix” times “the electricity exported by the SFH”

Please keep in mind that you may have to adjust the coefficient in order to correctly implement it into your model depending on the actual specification you have chosen. Also pay attention to the right allocation when having multiple products. Finally, you need to be clear in your communication about the overall impact of the FC and the credit you take for the exported electricity.

Best regards
