General / Re: 'Import linear specification...' not available
« Last post by m.maeusbacher on March 26, 2018, 13:25 »
Hello Tae,

this is indeed a limitation of the educational license, in this case the import of linear specifications is not available.

I am sorry that I have no better news for you.

General / 'Import linear specification...' not available
« Last post by Tae on March 23, 2018, 05:17 »
Hello,

I am using an educational version of Umberto NXT Universal. I have been trying to import external data from an Excel spreadsheet. Apparently, this should be an easy process and I just need to click 'import linear specification...' But this option DOES NOT exist in my Umberto. See the attached image for the option I am referring to. Is it because of my educational license or do I need to update Umberto somehow? I would appreciate any comments.

Thank you!

Umberto NXT LCA and Umberto NXT Universal customers with a valid maintenance and support service received an update to the new version Umberto LCA+ on Dec 12, 2017.

In Umberto LCA+ the latest version v3.4 of the ecoinvent LCI database has been published.*

Read here about the new content of the database.

Should you be interested in obtaining Umberto LCA+ with the latest ecoinvent 3.4 database, please contact sales@umberto.de

*The update to ecoinvent 3.4 is available for all customers with a valid ecoinvent 3 license including a valid ecoinvent Maintenance Fee

General / Re: API to run simulations in Umberto NXT
« Last post by m.maeusbacher on March 08, 2018, 14:47 »
Hi Jeen,

sorry for the late reply.

Umberto NXT currently has no API, so there is no possibility to remote-control Umberto NXT. This is likely to change in the future, but I cannot say when.

Some of our users are using UI Automation tools. Could that be a solution for you?

General / Re: selbst erstellte Materialien dauerhaft speichern
« Last post by T.Steinert on March 08, 2018, 14:00 »
Hallo Lynn,

Tobias

General / Re: Dynamic modelling
« Last post by T.Steinert on March 08, 2018, 13:28 »
Dear Tim,

I´m sorry for the late answer.

I´m also sorry to say you that dynamic modelling is not included in all of the Umberto NXT product family.
In our latest Umberto version (LCA+ and Efficiency+) is it also not included. Currently we have no plans to update the NXT products neither to implement the dynamic modelling in the Umberto LCA+ and Efficiency+.

Best regards,
Tobias

General / Re: What is the reference flow
« Last post by rbrandt on March 08, 2018, 11:37 »
Dear Reference_engineer,
thank you very much for your question and sorry for the late reply. Unfortunately, we had some technical issues.

The reference flow (also called manual flow) is very important for your calculations, as all calculated values relate to the quantity of the manual flow in order to calculate the material flow model.

Indeed, the reference flow can be more than a “product”. For example, it can also be the annual production volume or a certain maximal output of an emission (emission cap).

You can find further examples in the Umberto User Manual. Therefore, please start Umberto -> choose “Help” in the menu -> Open User Manual -> look for chapter “Identification of Products (Reference Flows)”.

I hope this helps and please don’t hesitate to contact us, if there are any questions left.

Kind regards,

Rebecca

We have recently launched the new Umberto+ Generation!

Umberto maintenance and support service customers will get the update to the new Umberto+ versions free of charge. We recommend Umberto NXT Efficiency and Umberto NXT MFCA customers to update to the new version called Umberto Efficiency+. All the familiar functions from Umberto NXT Efficiency and Umberto NXT MFCA will still be available, you will even benefit from the following new features:

  • Ability to use Material Flow Cost Accounting (MFCA) now also for NXT Efficiency customers
  • Introduction of “Process Dependencies“
  • Additional usability improvements
  • Software interface now also available in German

To find a more detailed overview of the new functions and technical novelties, please have a look at the Release Notes.

Since this is a new version of the software, you will not receive a regular update notification in Umberto NXT.  Therefore you can download the new version here and continue with the installation as usual. Have fun with all the new features!

When installing the new version, please note the instruction notes which we have summarized for you in a pdf file. Please read them carefully. If you have any questions, please feel free to comment below this post or contact the Umberto support team at support@umberto.de.

You are an Umberto customer without an Umberto maintenance and support service, and you are interested in the new Umberto LCA+ version? Then please contact sales@umberto.de.
